Too Little Too Late: Chapter One (NEW SERIES!)
Selena POV:
“Hey, Liv?” I asked, running a hand through my short black bob, all while making sure the french toast wasn’t burning. My six year old daughter Olivia looked at me, her brown curls flying in front of her face. “What?”
“It’s almost time to go. Clean up your crayons, please.” I replied.
“But I wanted Daddy to draw with me!”
I sighed, placing the french toast on Olivia’s princess plate. “Daddy’s still sleeping, love.”
Olivia pouted, “Why?”
“Because he had a long day at work yesterday.” I set breakfast on the table, “I will show him, though. How about I set them right on the fridge so he can see when he wakes up.”
Olivia beamed, “Yes!”
“Good. Now eat your breakfast, silly girl.” I laughed, leaning over to kiss her on the forehead.

Justin POV:
“Daddy?”
“Not now.”
“Daddy?”
“I said not now!” I yelled as I continued to smoke on my cigarette. After a while, a blurry figure came up to me. “Daddy, I need help.”
“What the hell do you need?”
The blurry girl pouted, “My pencil needs to be sharp.”
“Do it yourself.” I replied, taking another drag.
“But,” She replied quietly, “Mom always helps me.”
“I don’t care if your Mom helps you, do I look like your damn mother? Huh? Do I look like a bitch to you?” I yelled.
The little girl ran off crying and I was finally in peace again. I couldn’t figure out if I didn’t care or just couldn’t concentrate.
I decided on both as the cigarette reached my mouth.

Selena POV:
Ring, Ring, Ring
“Hello?” I answered.
“Hi, love.” My husband’s voice came into the phone. I smiled and set down the script I had been reading for the last two hours. “What’s up?
“Just got done with a client. How’s filming?” Leo replied.
I smiled, “Pretty good. Did you see Liv’s drawings on the fridge? She was bugging me like crazy to wake you up this morning.”
“Yeah, I saw them. Cute as always. Oh, and I’m also glad you didn’t send her up there,” he lowered his voice, “I was still unclothed from last night.”
I blushed, laughing, “Oh, geez.”
“I’m kidding, honey. But I have a court case to get to in twenty so I’ll see you and Liv later. Have fun with press tonight. Love you.”
“I love you too, Leo.” I replied, sad that he had to hang up. The perks of marrying a lawyer, I thought.

Selena POV:
“I’m exhausted.” I sighed, falling onto my hotel room’s bed. I took off my white jacket and heels, feeling more comfortable already.
“I would assume so,” Ashley laughed, “So many fans.”
I yawned, “Tell me about it.”
Closing my eyes, I wished the day was over. It’s not that I didn’t love my fans. We all know I do. It’s just, sometimes, I hate having to put on a tough-girl attitude and pretend I didn’t just get off of a long flight. The worst, though, was not the lack of sleep; but my relationship. Actually, scratch that. My fling.
“Have you heard from you-know-who?” Ashley asked curiously, grabbing a water bottle from the room’s mini fridge.
“No.” I replied.
She meant Justin. My ex-boyfriend (who I’m now flirting and, and occasionally, sleeping with almost on a daily basis yet neither of us want to put a label on it and hurt our fans again.) As much as I wanted to forget him, I couldn’t. “Should I text him?”
“If you want, Sel.” Ashley looked at me.
I sighed, “I just want to know what we are. Friends? Good friends?”
“Boyfriend and girlfriend?” Ashley chimed in quietly, making me laugh.
“Exactly,” I spoke, “I’m just not sure.”
A second or two of silence went by before Ashley gave her advice.
“Ask him.”

Selena POV: One Hour Later
My head pounded, I was about to do this. All or nothing.
Me: So can I ask you something?
“I’m going to throw up!” Ashley groaned, looking the conversation over my shoulder. We were sitting on my hotel room’s bed, gossiping and laughing like teenage girls.
Justin: of course
I took a deep breath before typing my message, thinking cautiously what to say. “Does this sound stupid?”
“Let me see.” Ashley replied, grabbing my phone from my hands. She read it out loud, “Do you think we will ever go back to normal? You know, dating.”
“You forgot the ‘dot, dot, dot’ at the end.” I giggled nervously.
“Dot, dot, dot.” Ashley smirked and hit the send button, showing me the message going through on my iPhone screen.
Seconds seemed like minutes and minutes seemed like hours before I got the text back. My phone vibrated, causing my heart to pound. I took a deep breath before reading the text.

Note: Hey guys, I’m really sorry I’ve been MIA lately. High School sucks. This story really had no point to it but I wanted to write and couldn’t think of anything. Sorry I’m a little rusty.
Leave me requests? Thanks for reading, as always. xoxo
